Mason and Delaney arrive

A boy and a younger girl came up to the large supermarket and stared at it for a second. "Mason! Let's go!" The girl shouted, starting to run towards the building. Mason grabbed her arm to pull her away. "M-Mason? What are you doing?" She asked.
"You don't know what's in there, Laney." Mason said quietly, sounding a bit concerned. "What is another monster comes out and attacks us?"
Delaney looked at the entrance of the supermarket. "But I saw someone in there..."

Beside the entrance, a teenage boy had fallen asleep, consumed with exhaustion. They had finally found a place to stay, and he was silly enough to sit down after not sleeping for a day or two.

Delaney saw the boy sleeping beside the entrance. "Lets ask that guy." She said, pointing towards him. She ran up to him before Mason could pull her away.
"Laney, get back here!" He said, but she didn't listen. She tapped the boy on the sholder a few times. "Hellooo?"

The boy stirred. "Alice get away...." he murmured, closing his slit eyes once more. "You should get some sleep as well..."

Delaney cocked her head. "Who's Alice?"

"Why, you-"
He opened his eyes, not seeing his sister, but another girl. "Augh!" he shouted, jumping back. His chair tipped, and he fell to the ground.

Delaney gasped and put her hands up to her cheeks. "I-I'm sorry!" She said.

The boy groaned, as a girl ran in. "Aleks. What's wrong?" she asked, hearing his shout. She stopped at the sight of the two newcomers. "Oh. Hello." she said with a blank expression, blinking. "I see you've met my brother."

"I-Is he ok?" She asked nervously. Mason walked up beside his sister.

"I'm fine." came the murmur from behind the table. Alice giggled. "Don't worry. He is just stupid."

Delaney giggled. Then whispered in Mason's ear "Sounds like you." Mason turned to her. "You're stupid!" He said.

Aleks slowly got to his feet. "Nice to meet you." he said. "If you would like, you can stay with us. We and a few others live here at the moment. Can you two fight?"
He knew it was a dumb question, since they'd survived, but he was making sure they were valuable assets.

"Well, sure we can fight." Mason answered. "We came here looking for people for days. We were worried that we were the only ones left..."

"Improbable." said Aleks, who was immediately elbowed in the stomach by Alice. "I know how that feels." Alice said in an empathetic voice, as Aleks keeled over, mumbling words like: "Damn you."

"Not to be rude or anything..." Mason said. "...But do you have any food?"

"Plenty." answered Alice, putting her foot on Aleks' chest to stop his squirming. "Take what you need from any of the aisles."

"Thank you." Mason said. He walked inside with Delaney.

"Don't mention it." Alice said warmly, while simultaneously keeping her brother down with a brute force.
