Straight Into the Lion's Den

Minnie had only been in town a few days, and decided she needed to scope it out. She had been a few places already, but never down Macabre Road. The British teen strolled down the street now, her eyes wide and scanning the area. There was a school, but at the moment she was too terrified to go and see the gruesome scenes on display.

Her bow held in her hand, she stopped in front of a large home. It looked old, like that of a rich person's house in the 1800s. Gently, the girl put her hand on the gate, but felt a spot of hesitation.

"Noo! Don't go in there!" Alice yelled, jumping across the fallen trees. She suddenly lost her footing though, and fell onto the road with a shriek. Nightcrawlers from afar, who were feeding on whatever was on the road, turned and snarled, seeing too living humans. Meanwhile, Alice moaned, rising slowly.

Minnie jumped when she heard the girl behind her, and her heart began pounding when she saw the nightcrawlers down the road. Racing over to the girl, she pulled her to her feet.
"Come on," she hissed. "We need to go into that mansion!"

"B-but it is haunted." Alice complained, a slight trembling erupting. But there was no choice with the gaining shadows, so she nodded and made her way to the mansion.

Reaching the door, Minnie tried the doorknob, but to no avail. Out of frustration (and, though she refused to admit it, fear), she kicked at the weak part of the door, causing it to bang open. She rushed inside, allowing Alice in after her, and quickly shut the door behind them, hoping the nightcrawlers were stupid enough to not realize where they had gone.

Alice panted, trembling. "C-c-coral's mansion." she whispered. "We are in a haunted mansion..."

Minnie rolled her eyes, obviously not believing Alice.
"I don't know who you are," she said, "so I don't believe you. Honestly, it's probably just shadows living here that makes people think it's haunted."

"W-well, people thought i-it was haunted before the a-apocalypse." she said. She didn't know why shewas getting so worked up, though. She had been through hell with the shadows, and a silly ghost story was making her tremble.

"What's your name?" Minnie asked suddenly, stepping away from the door. "And what were you doing out there?"
