What an awkward coversation. Aleks was not sure how to respond after that, (HAHAHAAHAHA "AFTER" I SAID IT) so he looked up at the orange sky through the windows at the top of the store's walls, realizing it was about to get dark.

Following his gaze, Clove noticed also the darkening sky. "Are there precautions to be taken before the sun sets? Because I'm willing to help." She said simply, crossing her legs and leaning her elbows on her thighs.

"All we do is turn on the lights. We don't like wasting the Generator battery, because then someone will have to go to the Hardware Store and stock up on more." Aleks said. They just got there, though, so it would not be a problem. "Just, we don't go out at night. The shadows blend into the dark, and with no light, they are invisible. Floating pairs of white eyes, or red faces."

ADD got the best of this girl, and she pulled her knees to her chest, absently checking out her worn black converse. "Very well. So what am I to do?" Clove had never been presented with the option to not do something.

"Back to the survival thing." Aleks said, standing up to but his cup with the dirty dishes. "Don't die, and you are good."
He walked over to the front of the Walmart for a second.

That was it? Survive? Clove blinked. This was upsetting. She needed a duty, a role to play in the society of Wal-Mart. And since leader was so obviously taken.... Silently, she followed Aleks to the door, long green locks bouncing in place. You'd never think that Clove was a girly person but her hair just kinda.... Fell that way. "What are you doing..?" Aleks was probably going to come back at her with some witty comment that made her look dumb but whatevs. She was just trying to get the hang of the Resistance.

"Putting this in the dirty dishes pile." answered Aleks, blinking awkwardly. "Apocalypses do not mean we turn this place into a pigsty."

Clove blinked, which was kinda an answer in its own. "Got you, keep it clean." She said... Tossing her empty water bottle into the garbage can.

Aleks was about to say recycling, until he realized that the recycling plants were all probably destroyed. He nodded, unused to the whole no-more-everything thing, and cursed shadows each day.
"During the day, scavenging for extra supplies is always good. We need to make sure we never run out of stuff, and might as well get it before the shadows steal it." he murmured. "Due to this, we usually explore the town quickly and work on our fighting, as well as gain supplies."

Clove nodded again, her hair bouncing around her head. "I've already been scavenging around for quiet some time. Actually, I just ran of of supplies this morning." She said, blinking again. Clove wasn't one to show lots of um... facial expressions.

Aleks frowned, noticing her lack of emotion and treating it as something defensive. "Come on. Stop pretending like I am going to bite your head off." said Aleks, leaning against the counter. "Relax a bit."

Sort of, stiffly, Clove sat on a wooden bench nearby, crossing her legs in a painful looking way. "I take everything seriously. I apologize." She said softly.

Aleks stared at her, blinking, and nodded. "Fair enough." said the boy, sipping a new glass of tea. He liked that stuff. It was what he would drink before the apocalypse. It reminded him of home.
Aleks pushed it out of his mind, realizing he seemed to be in a daze.

"You seem..." Clove struggled for the right word, not knowing which one would fit the situation best. "Seem absent. Are you okay?" She asked, thinking back to her brief courses in first aid. Her brother'd demanded they both take them after one of the neighborhood kids fell off his scooter and busted his forehead open. Just in case of emergency He'd say, and Clove would be convinced that they MUST know everything about first aid. So they took the courses.

Aleks got out of his daydream to find Clove staring at him quizzically. He smiled awkwardly. "I am fine." he said. It happens a lot.
He kept the last part from being said aloud, and suddenly heard an abrupt crackling. a burst of light was seen out of the corner of his eye. Rain! It had yet to rain after the blackout! Aleks was tempted to run in it, like he and Alice used to do as kids in big storms.

Clove jumped a bit, losing her composure when the lightning struck. Oh God, there was going to be nothing that stopped her from running in it. As a child, so young she can only faintly remember, Clove and her mother used to run around in the storms, screaming and sometimes even jumping on their black tarp-ed trampoline. It was one of the few memories she had of her mom that she enjoyed. Raising a green eye brow at Aleks, she looked to the doors then back at him, standing to attention. "Do you uh... Wanna go out there?" A light drizzle had begun, and Clove found herself already moving towards the automated doors.

"If you are okay with it." said Aleks with a smile. He set the tea on the table, and hopped down. The rain poured down in a heavy patter. Carefully, Aleks opened a door, and it became even louder. Could shadows last in rain? Water may be a formidable weakness.

Without a thought about the shadows, or even if she busted her tail sliding on the slick pavement, Clove ran out the door, throwing her hands up. In a matter of seconds she was drenched in rain, and there were no shadows to be found.
Aleks still stood at the door, waiting. "Come onnnnnn! This is so much fun." Clove slung her now, dark dark green hair over her shoulder, feeling it land on the butt of her skinny jeans. Her tank top clung to her, showing off her rib cage. Aleks should probably feed her a steak.

Drenched pretty girls asking for him to join them always was a tempting offer. He got his coat, an onyx colored jacket with a hood, and ran out. The rapid drops refreshed every bone in his body. He let out a laugh, though was wary of the path heading to town.

Taking one look at him, Clove laughed. It was something she didn't do enough of. "You look like my grandmother. Take that off!" She insisted, holding her ribs. Laughing again, she started to walk towards him, but lost her footing in a puddle and fell flat on her ass. This made her laugh even harder, while she lay in the parking lot, rain slamming down on her face.

They seemed drunk. Aleks, with a roll up of the jacket, threw it into the open door of the Walmart, before outstretching a hand to help her up. His raven black hair was already soaked, sendind beads of water down his face.

Sitting in the puddle for a moment, Clove laughed a little more, then grabbed Aleks's hand and heaved herself up "I think this is the most fun I've had since I was..... 8."

"Alice and I used to play in the rain as well." said Aleks, shouting over the pit patter. It was almost dark. "Alice would always track mud and blame me, and mom and dad would punish us both."

Clove smiled at that, think about little baby Alice, all perfect and cute, dragging mud in on pink little rainboots. She'd never admit it, but she totes thought Alice was like, the perfect girl. Falling back into her robot routine, she tugged at her tanktop, that was getting more and more see through by the minute, and turned to Aleks. "I never get to have much fun." She said.

Aleks saw this, and his cheeks immediately grew hot. "Yeah, we should really..."
He pointed to the door of the Walmart.
